THE STUDIO VILLAGE
(pictures of fans)
The purpose build Emmerdale studio village is not open to the public, members of the Emmerdale Club are the only fans who have access there during these week ends. We went there twice, on Saturday only to the Dingles' homestead and the old Holdgate farm, where the Reynolds now live. On Sunday we went to the proper village.
Sunday we started at the Village Hall, and then went to see the planting of the Emmerdale Club birch tree. Then we had about an hour to walk about in the village. It would have been so nice to see some of the on screen inhabitants there...
I talked to fans and to Designer Mike Long, who has designed the village with Tim Fee. I was starting to translate into Finnish the Behind the Scenes -book, which tells you about the building of the village set.
It started to rain and we went on to have tea near the Dingle's house again. Somehow I had understood we could go back to the village, and had hoped for the rain to stop, but unfortunately none of it happened. So there are really very few pictures of the village, most are from the Dingles and the Reynolds. Also some inside shots were such that I will include them when the events have been shown on Finnish Emmerdale.
